School House Studios officially opened at Country Lane, opposite Queenstown Events Centre in Frankton, on Saturday, providing beautiful airy, light spaces for local creatives. But the serene interior and stunning exterior finish hides a mountain of hard work and determination which was needed to save the 84-year-old building.

Relocated earlier this year from Waipahi, near Gore, it’s fittingly been named Sundays, though it’ll open Wednesdays till Sundays — 11am till late.

PRIME QUEENSTOWN DEVELOPMENT LAND FOR SALE AFTER 108 YEARS - A prime section of development land in Queenstown is on the market for the first time in more than 100 years. The 5199-square-metre piece of farmland was bought by Robert Grant in 1913 as part of the Grant Family Farm and is spread over three titles.

Tineke Enright and her brother Bruce Grant developed the centre on the family farm after their father Bill Grant retired from farming.

BUZZSTOP HONEY CENTRE - Nick Cameron’s family has been involved with beekeeping in Central Otago for over 100 years and the Buzzstop Honey Centre encompasses a hands-on educational experience. “I really wanted to educate people about bees, beekeeping and how honey is created from the flower to the hive and into the jar,” he says.
